Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SayAmen mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by SayAmen ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have parental or guardian permission to use the Service.
The Service
SayAmen is a Christian prayer companion that helps you pray on a schedule, follow along with scripture or prayers, track streaks, and optionally block distracting apps during prayer times.
The Service includes optional speech-guided prayer using your microphone and third-party speech recognition. The Service includes optional app blocking features subject to platform permissions.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information and to verify your email address when required.
You may not share your account, use another person's account without permission, or create accounts through unauthorized automated means.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service or its security.
- Misuse speech, blocking, or notification features to harass others or circumvent platform rules.
- Upload malware or attempt unauthorized access to our systems or third-party integrations.
Microphone and Speech Recognition
Speech features require microphone permission. Audio is processed in real time via Deepgram Nova-3 through our secure backend proxy. SayAmen does not store your voice recordings.
Speech recognition may not be perfectly accurate. Prayer completion metrics depend on detected speech and are provided for guidance only.
App Blocking
Optional app blocking is a convenience tool, not a parental control or security product. You are solely responsible for apps you choose to block and for complying with Apple, Google, and applicable laws when using blocking features.
Blocking may not work in all circumstances (e.g., device restrictions, OS bugs, or if permissions are revoked). We are not liable for access to apps during or outside prayer windows.
Subscriptions and Billing
SayAmen may offer free trials and paid premium subscriptions processed through Apple App Store or Google Play via RevenueCat.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies; we cannot override store refund decisions.
Prices may change with notice where required. Feature availability may differ between free and premium tiers.
Intellectual Property
The Service, including design, text, graphics, and software, is owned by SayAmen or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Bible text made available in the App may be subject to separate licenses (e.g., public domain or licensed translations).
You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
User Content and AI Features
If you use personalized prayer features, prompts you provide may be processed to generate prayer text for your session. Do not submit sensitive personal data you do not want processed for that purpose.
Generated content is for personal spiritual use. It is not theological, medical, or professional advice.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, that speech recognition will be accurate, or that app blocking will always function as expected.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAYAMEN AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SayAmen from claims arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any third-party rights.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting support.
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if required for legal or security reasons.
Provisions that by nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute terms) will survive.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country apply.
For users in the EEA/UK, nothing in these Terms limits statutory consumer rights. You may also have the right to bring claims in your country of residence where required by law.
Before filing a claim, contact us at support@sayamen.app to try to resolve the dispute informally.
Apple and Google Terms
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play, you also agree to the applicable store terms. Apple and Google are not responsible for the Service or its content.
Apple/Google are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms solely for the purpose of enforcing them against you as the end user where applicable.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance, except where further consent is required by law.
